This was another piece commissioned by my chiropractor. He wanted a painting for his office that had a quote that described his work. I feel the image and the quote work beautifully together.
This painting was so large, 8 ft. x 4 ft., that I didn't trust a standard canvas to be sturdy enough. Since it was going to be in the part of his office where he did his adjustments, it needed to be strong in case someone leaned on it. I made a cradled panel with a french cleat built into it. This made it easier to hang in his office. I then glued and covered the panel with a large canvas and gallery wrapped the edges. The canvas was then primed with an acrylic gesso.
This was the first time I used open acrylics. I love them! I used a grisaille underpainting and color glazes. The open acrylics made it possible to glaze and blend such large areas.
